Could Russia ever have a western-style republican system?

Or are they destined always to end up under autocratic rule? Seems like they briefly tried having a republic and it didn't work too well. I think their race just isn't well-adapted to a republican system. Putin probably knows this, but he can't really tell the west that openly, so he just keeps coming up with excuses to extend his rule.

It's kinda like how Latinos for the most part can't have a system that isn't corrupt, or that doesn't devolve into Marxism or autocratic rule. Arabs too seem to have trouble maintaining any sort of republican system; they tend toward autocracy, or having a caliphate or whatever.

Americans like Teddy Roosevelt used to talk about training the Filipinos for self-rule. In reality, they ended up just handing the Philippines over to them and letting them form a dictatorship that lasted several decades.

Democratic systems tend to have multiple points of 'failure' where it will stop functioning as a democracy, true democracy has never been tried similar to how true communism has never been tried, it's almost as if the more you deviate from it the better your country functions.

All countries on earth depend on decisions made by a few group of people, all voting does is enable to to elect people who are not going to turn their backs on the voters and cheat in the next election, in countries like Sweden the system will depend on a majority of the ones you elect genuinely believing in democracy.

People in general are not really in favor of full democracy, they want the supreme court to "defend their rights" and hardly anybody is protesting against "judicial review" but we do see a lot of individuals strongly in favor of the supreme court ensuring abortion rights.
