The Department of State designated Nordic Resistance Movement (NRM) and three of its leaders as Specially Designated Global Terrorists.

The United States remains deeply concerned about the racially or ethnically motivated violent extremist threat worldwide and is committed to countering the transnational components of violent white supremacy. Today’s actions are being taken following consultations with our European partners.

NRM is the largest neo-Nazi group in Sweden, with branches in Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Finland, where it has been banned since 2020. NRM’s violent activity is based on its openly racist, anti-immigrant, antisemitic, and anti-LGBTQI+ platform. The group’s members and leaders have carried out violent attacks against political opponents, protestors, journalists, and other perceived adversaries.

NRM members have also taken steps to collect and prepare weapons and explosive materials, including on behalf of the group and in furtherance of its goals. In addition, NRM has organized training in violent tactics, including hand-to-hand combat and knife fighting.

One of the leaders classified as a terrorist claims he left the leader 18 months ago and claims that he is no longer a nazi
Didn't stop his bank from freezing his account and he will now risk homelessness. He will try to appeal the decision but it's a very bad situation to be in.

Better think twice before you associate yourself with any of that.

The organisation has been fading into irrelevancy
They were strongest partly after the party of swedes "svenskarnas parti" was disbanded after a disastrous election results and many members ended up getting involved with SMR instead.

They later launched a forum which predictably failed spectacularly and they then tried launching a party with a shitty platform which of course failed hard in the election only getting 0.03% of the vote.

Later their former leader and convicted murderer Klas Lund started his own cult "nordisk styrka" which seems to have escaped being classified as a terrorist organisation for some reason.

Pushing their members towards dangerous activism
One general theme in SMR has been that they push people towards being active on the street, they didn't really appreciate people who did the much more valuable (for them) work of managing their propaganda website and writing articles.

They even told their members to break the law by having a a knife with them when they are outside.

They also had a thing where they glorified futile struggles over actually being intelligent, that goes hand in hand with being a nazi.
