A lot of humans obsess over animals as while they are about to die childless. This might be a case of evolutionary maladaption where people desire satisfaction out of taking care of useless animals instead of actually reproducing themselves.

What went wrong with dogs?
Why is it that wolves are such beautiful creatures while almost all dogs are outright disgusting?

Dog nutter getting evicted
Dog nutters often choose to wreck their lives for the take of their useless dogs.

First things first, the 14/30 notice. Today was the 14 days. We were woken up at 6am with dogs fighting and her tv blasting. Talked to the property manager, she’s getting evicted. She was served yesterday and was very angry. So it was retaliation. Gives me a peace of mind knowing any noise we hear within the next 2 weeks will be gone soon, but also anxious because it’s probably gonna be alot worse than it was after she was served the 14 day notice.

The dog annoyance sounds to stop barking or fighting didn’t work. My feline wasn’t bothered by it, but it didn’t cease the dog noise. My mom had one of those plug in dog noise stopper things a few of you commented about and that didn’t work either. My best bet is to drown out the noise as much as possible.

Property manager told me to still not do or say anything, but call the police if necessary then shoot them an email so she can add it to the file. They said this is going to affect her finding a new place, and that they dont understand why my neighbor would rather have an eviction on her record rather than just getting rid of her dogs. I said shitty priorities.

Koko never learned language
She merely learned to try various hand-signs until she picked the one humans wanted. She didn't actually learnto understand human lnaguage because chimpanzees simply lack the brain-structure needed to actually do that.

Humans have a tendency to anthropomorphosize animals
People in general project their own way of thinking upon others including non-human animals even though these animals are very different from humans. Dogs cannot actually understand what we are saying too them since they don't have the brain-structure needed to understand language.

It's basically only whales, dolphins and non-human primates who come even close to humans when it comes to conscious awareness. Very few animals actually pass the mirror test illustrating how dumb almost all animals are.

Pets are huge waste of time and money. And not what they are cracked up to be at all. People tend to anthropomorphosize pets and pretend that they are capable of human emotions. They are not, because they are just animals and don't have the mental capacity to love unconditionally, Etc.

If most people realized what their pets were really thinking they would get rid of them pretty quickly.

I'd rather devote my time to human relationships. And also helping others in need

Dogs and their shit
It's pathetic how humans volunteer to basicaly be slaves for useless dogs to the point where they even pick up their shit.

Thank you for the link.

We often go on urban walks and hikes, for many miles. The amount of miserable-looking people with leashed and unleashed dogs is enormous. You can just tell these people hate having to get up and do this nonsense twice a day, every single day, as their shitbeast smells urine-and-shit-soaked hydrants, bushes, curbs.

And most disgusting by far is the dogshit cleanup. Now, I am thankful at least some percentage of dogowners are picking up the steaming piles of shit their "pets" excrete on streets and sidewalks. There are a lot of asshole dogowners who fail to do so.

But even the dogshit pickup is disgusting. I see these people bending over, hand encased in a crinkly plastic bag, grasping and fingering steaming piles of dogshit. Fuck me dead, it's revolting, just the thinnest piece of plastic between their skin and fresh excrement. Ugh.

And observe enough, you'll see hundreds of people, walking around with warm plastic turd bags, tied off at one end, either swinging from the leash or hanging from their free hand. Basically, dog owners walking around with dangling, steaming dogshit ornaments. Revolting. Revolting. I say for a third time, revolting.

Who in the hell wants to do this, picking up, scraping, and carrying horrid-smelling fresh dogshit, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after shitty year? And why? Why do you do this to yourself? Canines are supposed to -- are designed to -- shit in the woods and fields, kicking and sometimes burying their shit on their own. Watching sentient humans repeatedly bow down before steaming dogshit piles, as if they were offering up a prayer, it's pure insanity. Pure. Insanity.

Your comment pretty much explains my current mental state so much. Our dog is 13…and for most of her life I always thought I was a ‘dog person’. My wife and I did so much with her, tried to give her a good life. We took her on so many road trip adventures, brought her places, etc etc. I dedicated so much of my time to this dog. But I’m just exhausted now. Taking her out to go to the bathroom depresses me. Cleaning up the loose shits off the ground depresses me. Washing the gross dog blankets depresses me. Feeding her depresses me. It’s the same thing…over and over and over…for 12-15 years. And it’s just constant neediness. I’m just over it all. I’m so tired. Having a pet that lives long is both a blessing and a curse. I hate to say it…but in a way, I’m just anxiously awaiting her passing…so I can just breath again.

there are some dogs raised to be warriors such as the naples mastiff descendant of egypt warrior dogs used as assault weapons.

Despite the appearances, this dog is not suited to live with humans. It is a "crazy" dog, and I think it has some genetic defects because the skull compresses its brain...

Chaining this dog is a mere act of conforming to laws because this dog has enough strength to break free and you will not hold him if he attacks.

I think its a good compromise. You can have this dog, but you will have to feed him meat, and his turd will also be bigger. A good compromise could be if you had this dog in a large garden, roaming around almost free, without a chain, and teach him to shit in 1 place and not all over your garden.

Better be quick to teach this dog a lesson, preferably when he is still a puppy, when he will be adult he will break your bones with every bite, he is also sturdy, you can punch his face and he feels nothing, once he bites the dog never loses hold of whatever piece of your body he grabbed. If theres a bone, it will be cracked.

It is expensive, so think about it. The meat you feed him will be expensive too.

Irresponsible breeding practices and the obsession with 'racial' purity
I find it a bit disturbing how dog nutters are breeding dogs that struggle to even bread properly only because they want a certain appearance.

One big problem here is that because most dogs are pets who are worse than useless there is very little responsible breeding going on and instead dogs are either mixed (where the outcome is unpredictable) or severely inbred.

For selective breeding to work well it has to be based on good criteria and you also need genetic diversity, therefore you actually need to introduce new genetics to the breed continuously so it can keep getting better instead of getting worse.

Introducing laws against inbreeding could help to prevent inbreeding but it would not solve the problem of pet dogs not being properly bred in general, it would take a long time to turn current pet dogs into something more decent to the point where it's hardly worth the effort.

Another obvious problem with obsession with racial purity is that it can very easily spill over into politics regarding humans, we do not want another holocaust to happen.

Dog owners love to equate their pets to actual working dogs when they have very little in common.

It is also worth noting that a good breed that is optimized for one type of work might not actually be suited as a pet. Terriers for example has intact prey drive and are useful for catching some rodents, not something you want as a pet since the same prey drive could end up being turned on a human child.

What i think we need to do is to simply ban dogs as pets in general and only allow them to professionals who are licensed to handle them and the few who actually has a legitimate usage of a service dog (where the alternative to a dog would be more costly). We can maybe make an exception for sparely populated areas such as at farms.

Or maybe have a dog nutter city where people can enjoy dog shit together (providing they don't have children growing up there).

“This is why we can’t have nice things” applies to dog owners.

They’ve blown it, in my opinion.

The fact that pugs and French bulldogs exist, and the fact that French bulldogs are the “trendy” dog right now says all I need to know about nutters and breeding. They don’t care about the welfare of the dog—they care about how “cute” it looks. It doesn’t matter what a miserable existence the dog itself leads—it’s “cute”. Animal abuse be damned!

That doesn’t touch people who think pitbulls are family dogs/the dog for everyone, or the idiots who think working dogs are happy being locked inside for 23 hours a day. That’s also animal abuse. Or people who think Siberian Huskys and Alaskan Malamutes are appropriate dogs for desert climates. The list goes on and on.

To top it off, you’re seeing mentally deranged people call the shots. Under no circumstance should a dog be euthanized. So what do we do instead if no one wants the dog? We warehouse them for the rest of their lives while the shelter plays on the mentally deranged’s heartstrings. Again, animal abuse.

Until people can get their act together and start treating dogs like animals and not accessories, and stop with unethical breeding practices, keeping improper dogs in improper environments, and shelters are forced to be held accountable for their actions…I’m inclined to agree with you.

Very well said. Dogs have been bred for thousands of years to accomplish all sorts of purposes. So focus on dogs that are going to be docile, easy to care for and can function normally without a host of health problems.

The rest need to be culled from the breeding population altogether.

Wild animals >> pets
I do enjoy seeing animals in the wild and that does not require me to feed them (you actually shouldn't) or in any way take responsibility for them, i also do not have to pay any entrance fee to a zoo.

Dogs in particular are unhygienic and are also prone to making unprovoked attacks against humans (especially small children) but there are problems with other types of pet's as well.

In most cases actually taking good care of a pet is way too much effort so realistically we will end up with animals being abused/neglected for the most part. Wouldn't it be better to focus on actually taking care of humans?

Wouldn't it be better to instead put effort into creating nature reserves where we all can enjoy seeing the wild animals instead of having people have tigers, etc in their private homes hoping they are not going to get eaten by them.

One of the few pets that are low maintenance is outdoor cats that are allowed to roam free, that is all fine and dandy except that too many people are doing it resulting in some species going extinct (not everyone cares about that though).
